So, surgical hair restoration is considered as the best and permanent solution for hair loss. This treatment involves a series of operations in which plugs of scalp are extracted from the sides and back of the head where the growth of hairs are dense and then they are implanted on the top and in front from where the person is becoming bald. There are number of surgical treatments available for the men and women and they are:-

Hair Transplantation

This treatment involves grafting. This is a process in which strips of skin where the hairs are dense are removed from the back of the head and the dissection is done and then they are placed in the portion from where the person’s scalp is bald.

Scalp Reduction

This process includes a portion of the balding area which is removed by surgery and the bald spot is shrinked. Successive scalp reductions are done to decrease size of the bald area and it is also known as galeoplasty.

Flaps

Flap is also another type of surgical treatment in which large U shaped piece of scalp is separated from the surrounding donor area. Then this separated piece is placed over the bald spot. This procedure is performed with other grafts which help in creating a natural hairline and look.

Tissue Expansion

This is also one of the surgical procedure which is used in the treatment of hair loss. This procedure involves the placing of the silicon bags beneath an area of scalp with hair and then it is inflated for a period of six weeks. This will stretch that part of the scalp and then the bags are removed.
